I never had the pleasure of meeting Dawn in person, but we connected via email, concerning our shared family history. We were 3rd cousins, 1x removed. I particularly enjoyed her long, newsy letters concerning the Tarelli family.
My 3x great grandfather, Matteo Tarelli was nephew to Dawn’s relative, Antonio Tarelli. Both born in the Lake Como area of Italy they came to Newcastle Upon Tyne in the 1800’s. Newcastle was my home town, though I now live in Nebraska, USA.
Dawn was wonderful in researching genealogy and corresponding with new information.
My condolences to her family at this sad time.

Dawn always impressed me with her wide range of interests, about which she seemed to be so knowledgeable, as well as enthusiastic. Apart from being such an interesting person, Dawn was gentle, generous and loving. She admirably looked after her parents-in-law (my great aunt and uncle) and inspired them to live full lives to the end. I remember her generously helping me to discover a suitable place to stay in Penzance on one of our visits to see Kath, Les and Dawn and taking us out for a sightseeing excursion and a picnic in the camper van.
Dawn will be missed by many. My condolences to Alec and Florence and to Eleanor and all of Dawn’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Dawn was a very much valued member of the Penwith Local History Group - a true historian. Her incisive, questioning, curiosity and the ability to explore every aspect of her research contributed greatly to the work of the Group. She will be sorely missed. (Carrie Baker on behalf of PLHG)
